SYMBOLS ARE VERY POWERFUL and can be extremely useful in the creation of reality; the Ancients understood this and used them extensively. And while the use of a symbol does not in itself bring about healing, it can help consciousness to release and hone-in on the energy pattern necessary to bring about the desired manifestation.
