“I have always thought that every time one of the drums is played in the works I have created, its sound also spreads a message that goes to the heart of the world. Each work speaks of spirituality, magic, change, the sacred, the delicate, the mystical, the new and the old. A work with a message that invites us to awaken the heart and our sacred connection with life.”
Hello, good day, thank you very much for visiting my store.
I tell you that the skin I use is from a mule, a cross between a horse and a donkey. It is a very resistant skin and has greater density, which helps it to better withstand cold climates compared to cow, horse, deer, sheep, etc. skins.
These types of animals are not raised for food like other animals, they are used for transporting cattle in the mountains of Mexico and die naturally.
The advantage of this leather is its durability over time and resistance to humidity and cold.
The bonding and resistance of the skin prevents it from coming loose with moisture, helping the paint not to suffer constant stretching and contraction due to cold and heat.
The wood I use is pine from a community in the mountains of Nayarit, where they plant it in a balanced way with the existing forest in the area. This wood helps the drum not to have an exaggerated weight.
The drum is tied with a special rope that, not being made of leather, helps to always maintain the tension of the drum.
The sound of the drum is very exquisite, having a lot of resonance and used both for chants and for healing or sound therapies due to the strength and delicacy of the sound.
The size I have is 40cm in diameter and weighs between 1kg and 1,100kg. It includes a drumstick, covered in fabric so that the sound is more harmonious and sweet, and it also helps to keep the protective paint from coming off. You have to try to keep the drumstick free of dirt and sand.
The drums are carved and their pattern will never fade, being the only skin that can be carved without losing sound and strength over time. Another type of skin mentioned above loses its shape over time, the skin blooming with moisture.
The drums are assembled and then move on to the drawing phase, where the drum is played and the drawing is done directly on the drum skin, with the instructions that the person wants. The drawing is done until the energy is felt coming out of the drum.
The drawing is then carved so that it remains on the drum forever.
Afterwards, it is drawn with acrylic paint. Once the painting is finished, it is left to rest for two days, so that I can observe it and add the details that I feel will contribute to achieving a perfect image full of magic.
Finally, 7 layers of protective paint are added so that it lasts for many years without the paint being erased.
Tell me something about yourself and what you would like to have on your drum, there is a message for every being.

It’s a beautiful drum with a warm tone, I really love it! The thick skin is coloured in earth brown, the picture is scratched lightly & painted in fine white lines. Superfast shipping! Made myself a Christmas gift 😊

A wonderful drum, beautifully crafted with stunning artwork. The sound is vibrant, and Ariel is a communicative and friendly seller.
I live on a Greek island, and the drum absorbed moisture on its first night at my home, which changed the sound.
I followed the care instructions and dried it with a hairdryer. The sound was restored immediately.
Thank you for all the help!
