Calcite on Dolomite, Tsumeb Mine, Namibia

The specimen consists of milky-white rhombic crystals of Calcite that have been deposited onto a surface of grey rhombic crystals of Dolomite. The Calcite crystals are consistently intergrown and measure up to 1.1mm on edge. The matrix is Dolomite with some Hematitic staining present.
